December 2024 - USA Softball Jim Farrell National Tournament Award

The 2024 USA Softball Men’s Class D Slow Pitch Northern National tournament was held August 24-25, 2024, at Prospect Meadows. This was the first time a national men’s softball tournament was held at the complex. On Thursday, December 19, 2024, representatives of USA Softball presented Prospect Meadows with the James Farrell Award of Excellence for one of the highest rated national tournaments. This award is named in honor of former USA Softball of St. Louis Commissioner and National Office Staff Member, James Farrell. The award of excellence is presented to communities that do an outstanding job of hosting the USA Softball National Championship Finals. Twenty teams from four Midwest states participated in the two-day event, with the No Fly Zone team from New London, Iowa, taking the championship.

 

January 2022 - Geico Philanthropic Foundation Difference Maker

This award presented by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders is given to individuals, families, and/or organizations that have repeatedly demonstrated valuable contributions through positive interactions with others, a respect for value and inclusion, and enhancing the lives of those in their community.  Prospect Meadows was chosen for the award based on their fulfillment of “The 4 Bases” capital campaign.  The 4 bases represent local league play, the Optimist League of Dreams program for under-served youth, the Kiwanis Miracle League for differently-abled youth, and the economic impact of hosting regional events.

 

November 2021 - Community Spotlight Award 

Prospect Meadows received one of the 2021 Community Spotlight Awards at Good Morning, Cedar Rapids! Ceremony from The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.  Good Morning, Cedar Rapids! began more than 30 years ago as an avenue to recognize unique, homegrown, and established businesses in our community.

 

September 2020 - All-Star Community Award

The City of Marion collected a prestigious honor from the Iowa League of Cities, for being the proud location of Prospect Meadows. The Iowa League of Cities applauded Marion and Prospect Meadows for making a major impact on the community, both in terms of financial revenues and for giving young people an opportunity to play ball in a state-of-the-art complex.

 

June 2020 - Club Appreciation Award

Jack Roeder, the president and CEO of Prospect Meadows, was honored by the Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids for his dedication, hard work and integrity.  He is the recipient of the award bestowed annually to a non-Rotarian who exemplifies what the club stands for.

 

October 2019 - Community Improvement Award 

Prospect Meadows was honored with a Gazette Excellence in Business Award during a ceremony held at the Kirkwood Hotel.  The Gazette recognizes local businesses, corporations and non-profits for their successes during the year.

 

October 2019 - Community Impact Award

Prospect Meadows received this award from the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Marion Times. Prospect Meadows and the Kiwanis Miracle League were honored as the first recipients of the award.  Jill Ackerman, the president of the Marion Chamber of Commerce, saluted the organizations for making a “monumental impact” on the community.

 

November 2018 - Benjamin Franklin Award

Prospect Meadows General Manager Jack Roeder received the Benjamin Franklin Award at the National Philanthropy Day awards.  The local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) highlight the community volunteer fundraisers and fundraising professionals who are doing amazing work for the greater good.
