Prospect Meadows released an economic impact study that shows the sports complex hit a decisive home run for Linn County last summer.
The study by the Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) showed Prospect Meadows generated more than $14.9 million of “new spending at businesses” and more than 30,000 hotel room nights.
"It's nice to finally have solid data to show our true value to the area," said Jack Roeder, President and CEO of Prospect Meadows, a nonprofit organization. "We are committed to continue supporting our communities through local play and must be one of the leading attractions of out-of-state visitors to our area."
"This is what destination tourism is all about," said Roeder. "The people of Linn County can be proud that their investment has become a real lightning rod for tourism dollars in this area."
The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) conducted the economic impact evaluation and study. SFC is located in Clearwater, Florida and works with sports facilities and sports tourism nationwide. The study was based on the February through October 2024 season, as well as previous years data.
"We are continually looking for ways our facilities can improve the economic vitality of the communities we serve while providing young athletes with a world-class facility for years to come," said Roeder.
