Juco softball showcase set for Friday
September 29, 2022 | Angela Jordan
Most of the people who play softball at community colleges would love to get a chance to play at a four-year school once their junior college careers are finished.
That’s why the ICCAC Softball Scrimmages at Prospect Meadows this Friday, Sept. 30 will be an important day for many of them.
Fourteen junior college softball teams will be participating in the event, which is sponsored by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
The Showcase provides an opportunity for the teams and athletes to be scouted by four-year coaches who can see a lot of players in a short period of time at one location.
There will be games at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Kirkwood Eagles, who finished third in the NJCAA Division II national tournament last season, will be featured in the final two time slots.
