At Prospect Meadows in Marion, Iowa, something truly amazing takes place each season on Miracle Field. It’s called the Miracle League of Linn County, and it’s not just about baseball, it’s about belonging, community, and pure joy. Every athlete gets their chance to shine, no matter their ability.

In the Spring 2025 season, the Miracle League saw 12 teams take the field, made up of amazing athletes with different abilities from across the region. The Miracle League is designed for kids with disabilities, giving them a safe, supportive place to play baseball. Each player was paired with a “buddy” volunteer who provided support, encouragement, and friendship throughout every game. From pushing wheelchairs around the bases to celebrating big hits and even bigger smiles, these moments became unforgettable memories for players and fans alike.

The season began with a celebration that brought together families, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters, all united by a simple belief: every child deserves the chance to play baseball.
Over the course of the spring season, 2,086 fans visited Prospect Meadows to cheer on their favorite Miracle League athletes. The stands were filled with applause and plenty of heartwarming moments. Every game was a testament to the power of inclusion and the strength of the community.

What started as a vision from local Kiwanis Clubs, to create a space where kids of all abilities could play safely and confidently, has grown into a cornerstone of the Prospect Meadows mission. The Miracle Field ensures that no physical barrier stands between a child and the joy of the game.

Each week brought new highlights. Behind every cheer was a community that showed up, not just to watch, but to support, connect, and celebrate the true spirit of baseball.

The Miracle League of Linn County at Prospect Meadows is more than a game. It’s a movement, one that continues to grow every season.

We can’t wait to see you at the ballpark this fall!
