RoughRiders honor Prospect Meadows

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders honored Prospect Meadows with the Geico Difference Maker award Saturday, January 29th on the ice prior to their matchup with the Chicago Steel. The Geico Philanthropic Foundation Difference Maker in the Community is an award presented to individuals, families, and/or organizations that have repeatedly demonstrated valuable contributions through positive interactions with others, a respect for value and inclusion, and enhancing the lives of those in their community.
The RoughRiders chose Prospect Meadows for the award based on their fulfillment of “the 4 bases” campaign to build. The 4 bases are local league play, the Optimist League of Dreams program for under-served youth, the Kiwanis Miracle League for differently-abled youth, and the economic impact of hosting regional events.
“We are honored to be recognized by the RoughRiders with the Geico Difference Maker award,” remarked Prospect Meadows General Manager Steve James. “We’ve been able to touch all the bases we promised when fundraising to build the complex, which allows us to fulfill our non-profit mission to those we serve.”
James went on to state, “the importance of collaboration with all our partners has been crucial to the fulfillment of our mission.”
Prospect Meadows will continue to touch all the bases in 2022 with an even busier schedule. The Perfect Game Spring League is the first event on the schedule with the first games played in late March.
