Teams from 7 states coming for PG tourney

Some of the best 15-and-under baseball teams from the Midwestern part of the country are heading to Prospect Meadows this weekend for the 2019 WWBA 15U Prospect Meadows National Championship.

The tournament is scheduled to run from Saturday through Tuesday, with the championship game set for Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Elite travel teams from Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Colorado and Arkansas are coming for the four-day event, which will be played on the Perfect Game Quad at Prospect Meadows.

There will be 13 teams in the tournament, split into two pools for the preliminary rounds. The top two teams will advance to the semifinals Tuesday, with the championship game to follow.

The teams in Pool A are Elite Baseball Training, Chicago White Sox ACE, Morris Chiefs, Recruits Baseball Club, Minnesota Icemen-Spencer, Sticks Baseball Academy and the Minnesota Blizzard. The teams in Pool B are Elite 15U Premier, Minnesota Millers, Slammers Baseball, Minnesota Icemen-Sutterer, Sluggers Baseball and the Cangelosi Sparks White.

The tournament is scheduled to start Saturday at 9 a.m.
