The Enhance Iowa Board Awards Prospect Meadows

The Enhance Iowa Board made an award from the Baseball and Softball Complex Sales Tax Rebate program to Prospect Meadows at their December meeting in Urbandale.

The Baseball and Softball Complex Sales Tax Rebate program was established by the Iowa Legislature in 2016. Applicants must own and operate a baseball or softball complex with a construction cost of at least $10 million. The rebate comes from sales of admission tickets, merchandise and other goods sold at the complex and is effective for up to 10 years or until the award amount is reached. The maximum amount to be paid out to Prospect Meadows is 2.5 million dollars.

Prospect Meadows President, Jack Roeder, said that “this is a big plus for Prospect Meadows and the organization is very appreciative of the state’s efforts and award. This award will help Prospect Meadows with its operational costs for the first 10 years of our existence, which will be a critical time in the development of the complex”.
